Rainwater harvesting systems

A rainwater harvesting system captures and stores rainwater for permitted non-wholesome usage such as WC flushing, car washing, garden watering and possibly, clothes washing purposes.

Storage tanks can be located above or below ground. Water can be pumped directly from the storage tank to the points of use or pumped to an intermediate storage cistern within the building.

To guide you through these, the National Skills Academy have recently produced a series of consumer guides.
