Micro-combined heat and power (heat-led)

A heat-led micro-combined heat and power (micro-CHP) system includes a micro-CHP unit that is similar in appearance to a heating system boiler.

A heat-led micro-CHP unit generates electricity as well as producing heat for domestic hot water and space heating purposes.

The term ‘heat-led’ means that the generation of the electricity occurs when the unit is responding to a system demand for heat and also means that the majority of output from the unit is for heating purposes.
