Greywater reuse systems

A greywater reuse system receives ‘grey’ waste water that is discharged from washbasins, baths, showers, washing machines and filters, treats, and in some cases, stores the water ready for reuse for WC flushing, car washing, garden watering and possibly, clothes washing purposes.

Storage tanks can be located above or below ground. Water is typically pumped directly from the storage tank to the points of use.

To guide you through these, the National Skills Academy have recently produced a series of consumer guides.
