How the Academy works

The National Skills Academy for Environmental Technologies provides training in the assessment, advice, design, installation and maintenance of a range of technologies such as insulation, solar thermal, photovoltaic, heat pumps, and water harvesting and reuse.

Around 100 colleges, training providers, universities and manufacturers across England and Wales are currently accredited under the National Skills Academy banner. Together they deliver a range of courses and qualifications that have been approved by SummitSkills, the sector skills council for building services engineering and other sector skills councils including Asset Skills and ConstructionSkills to meet individual competence requirements within competent person schemes.

Additional technologies such as biomass and micro-CHP will be available in the near future

The National Skills Academy currently consists of 22 leading 'hub' colleges who work in partnership with other training providers to offer the environmental qualifications . We also have manufacturer hubs.
