What will I learn?

Choose from the following qualifications available at Level 3:

Level 3 Certificate in Domestic Energy Assessment

Level 3 Certificate in Non-Domestic Energy Assessment

Level 3 will suit you if you are looking to work in energy assessment, and have some relevant knowledge and skills, usually from a role where you've been supervised.

You will complete a combination of mandatory and optional units, depending on the qualification you choose. Sample units are:

  • Undertake energy inspections
  • Identify representative properties for sampling.
  • Report on energy assessment of new and existing non-dwellings using Simplified Building Energy Model (SBEM).

Level 4 NVQ Diploma Non-Domestic Energy Assessor

Is ideal for learners with a Level 3 qualification in energy assessment wishing to expand their knowledge and access wider non-domestic energy markets.

This qualification comprises six mandatory units. Sample units include:

  • Assess compliance with Buildings Regulations relating to energy performance of new buildings other than dwellings
  • Report on energy assessment of new and existing non-dwellings using Simplified Building Energy Model (SBEM).

Who are the courses for?

Anyone interested in energy efficiency and working, or looking for work, as an energy assessor in the construction sector.

Entry requirements

Although there are no formal entry requirements for this course knowledge of building construction would be advantageous.
