Overview

Flue gases freom heating system boilers contain heat that can be recovered and used.

A passive flue gas recovery device can be used with some types of of gas fired combination boilers to extract heat from the flue gases. The extracted heat is then used to pre-heat cold water before it enters the boiler and is heated for domestic heating hot water purposes such as washing and bathing. The device is installed above the boiler and the flue gases pass through the device after leaving the boiler.
