Mechanical ventilation and heat recoveryMVHR.jpg

Overview

A mechanical ventilation and heat recovery (MVHR) systems extracts the warm, moist air from rooms such as kitchens and bathrooms. The air is passed through a heat exchanger then ducted to the outside. Fresh air from outside is drawn in and passed through the heat exchanger, which warms the air. The warmed air is then supplied to living rooms and bedrooms via ducts.

To guide you through these, the National Skills Academy have recently produced a series of consumer guides.
